Teneshia Jackson Warner’s life story has been one of perseverance, diligence, risk-taking and inspiration. Her motto “It’s not enough to follow your dreams, we must chase them”, is a theme that is weaved throughout the impressive career that Teneshia has built over a decade spanning multicultural marketing, project management and inspirational life coaching.
Teneshia’s career started in corporate America at IBM Global Services. After a few years at IBM, she embarked upon a dream journey led by passion, persistence and faith which resulted in an apprenticeship with globally successful innovator, entrepreneur and business mogul, Russell Simmons. Under Russell’s leadership, Teneshia gained valuable experience as the General Manager of Rush Communications. Inspired and encouraged by Russell, Teneshia began her own entrepreneurial path, and founded The EGAMI Group in 2007.
Now an award-winning multicultural marketing firm, The EGAMI Group helps brands to “INSPIRE”, “CONNECT” and “ACTIVATE” consumers through innovative, invigorated and best in class marketing campaigns, strategic partnerships, custom community programs, public relations and/or new product launches. In fall 2012, Teneshia released Profit With Purpose: A Marketer’s Guide to Deliver Purpose-Driven Campaigns to Multicultural Audiences. Published by Paramount Marketing, with the foreword provided by Russell Simmons, her book received rave reviews as the first book to be written on multicultural purpose-driven marketing.
In November 2012, Teneshia launched the Purpose Awards to salute brands, companies, organizations and individuals who are purpose-driven in their respective fields. In 2013, she also found The Dream Project Symposium, an annual symposium to support aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals to take their dreams, ideas and businesses to new heights.
A graduate of Alabama A&M University, Teneshia is the recipient of the coveted Black Enterprise Rising Star and 40 Under 40, AdColor MVP, The Network Journal Forty Under 40 Awards. She has also been featured in Entrepreneur Magazine, Essence Magazine, Black Enterprise, ABC News and more.
